Gabriel the book holds a shape reminiscent of a trumpet with found images and texts from all over the world rubbed into the odd-shaped cut and activated pages. It has been in process for over 6 years and features impressions from California San Gabriel other monuments and memorials from across the USA and various other drafting instruments and eccentricities. Gabriel seems to be an enigmatic relic from some as yet undiscovered ancient country. The only clue to a contemporary origin is a penciled-in poem exploring the myth of the feared yet much loved cautionary horn-blowing angel mentioned in most Levantine religious texts. The book is a tactile epistle to love’s power to possibly prevent the apocalypse, or at least love’s power to assist one in surviving the same.
