Join Booklyn for an evening workshop with Anna Mavromatis demonstrating her signature sculptural roundabout books, by creating circular forms from new or used coffee filters. This unique technique utilizes affordable and commonly found materials to construct flexible and dimensional artists books.

Participants will each make their own blank book after an open discussion about potential content and variations of form.

Anna will present a selection of recent artists’ books and discuss the efficacy of using found and discarded materials to recreate personal narratives of past memories and histories, as illustrated in Anna’s recent solo-exhibition Handmade Tales at Redbud Gallery in Houston, TX.

This class is one in a series of workshops demonstrating bookbinding and printmaking processes using accessible techniques, commonly found materials and affordable equipment, taught by approachable and knowledgeable educators. These workshops provide foundational techniques and blank platforms for which artists, writers, activists, organizations and community members can build upon incorporating their own artwork and ideologies.

No experience is necessary. Registration required, sign up here.
